Kinesis — How-to Use a Slider Buckle

Belt & Shoulder Strap Slider Adjustment

The slider (also called a Tri-glides, Sliploks, 3-bar slider or butterfly buckle) is a simple buckle that provides a wide and secure adjustment of webbing.

Top: Y515 Shoulder Strap (Y315 use the same steps)
Bottom: B107 Belt w/ B501 Metal Slider (other belts use the same steps)

1. Remove the buckle from the webbing. Add the slider unto the webbing -- be sure the bowed or curved part of the slider is up.
2. Feed the loose end of the webbing up through the bottom of the buckle slot.
3. (Y515) Feed the loose end of the webbing through one slot of the slider.
3. (Belt) Feed the loose end of the webbing back into the other buckle slot.
4. (Y515) Feed the loose end of the webbing through the other slot of the slider.
4. (Belt) Feed the loose end of the webbing into the first slot of the slider.
5. (Y515) Remove the slack.
5. (Belt) Feed the loose end of the webbing into the other slider slot & remove slack.
6. (Y515) Double back the webbing into the first slot as shown.
6. (Belt) Carefully insert the loose end of webbing under the plastic "strap keeper." The strap keeper is
only designed to hold the loose end of the webbing from flapping around. It is not intended to be a weight-bearing buckle.
7. (Y515) Pull the extra webbing through by removing the the slack. The extra length of webbing can be cut off and melted with a cigarette lighter or match.
